ENSURING A SAFE JOBSITE

<ul><li>Continuously monitors for personnel within three detection zones around the excavator.</li><li>Utilizes three cameras with up to 270-degree coverage - 9 m (29.5 ft) maximum detection distance.*</li><li>Highlights people with red detection boxes on the in-cab display to help increase operator awareness.</li><li>Triggers progressive visual and audible alerts based on a person’s proximity to the machine - three detection zones.</li><li>Detects multiple moving and stationary personnel simultaneously during machine travel and operation.</li><li>Provides both in-camera and off-camera monitoring.</li><li>Cat Detect - People Detection is not compatible with Cat Command remote control technologies.</li></ul> * Detection distance is the approximate range from each camera.

HOW IT WORKS

<ul><li>When personnel are detected near a hazard zone, and within direct camera view, a visual alert is shown on the in-cab display*, and an audible alarm is played (optional).</li><li>Audible Alert Icons - Illustrate if the People Detection system is active (standby/on/off), if an audible alarm is active (on/off), or if there is a system error causing People Detection not to function properly.</li><li>Visual Alert Icons - Directional icon alerts indicate both location and distance level when personnel are detected. Three color levels provide approximate proximity to the machine - red (critical), amber (caution), and yellow (awareness).</li><li>People Detection Indicator - A red boundary box surrounds personnel that have been detected within a hazard zone to help increase operator awareness.</li></ul> * The system may not detect personnel in certain circumstances, such as fast swings speeds, people lying down or crouching, or when cameras are impaired by low light conditions (dusk, dawn, overcast), inclement weather (snow, rain, fog), or other similar conditions. <ul><li>The Object Detection System is used to monitor objects that appear behind the machine, when the machine is in neutral with park brake disengaged or reverse.</li><li>Radar detection is integrated into the display of the rear backup camera providing a two tier safety system.</li><li>The radar system status indicator appears on the left side of the display. Depending on the level of activity and the detection state, the status indicator will appear as green, yellow, or red in color.</li><li>Object detection proximity bars provide five warning levels to indicate the nearness of an object.</li><li>An audible alert beeps more frequently as the machine gets closer to an object.</li><li>Warning levels change with the ground speed of the loader, reducing nuisance alarms.</li></ul> - Image Displays a Level 4 Warning (Visual and Audible)

ENSURING A SAFE JOB SITE

<ul><li>The Object Detection System typically consists of one or two radar sensors, and the graphical display.</li><li>The Object Detection System uses object detection sensors to provide the operator with additional information about the work area around the machine.</li><li>The display interfaces with the object detection sensors that are mounted on the rear of the machine.</li><li>The typical sensor coverage area is illustrated in the image to the right.</li></ul>

REAR OBJECT DETECTION ZONE

<ul><li>Object Detection System retrofit kits are available for Cat machines and mixed fleets without factory or retrofit Detect Object Detection systems.</li><li>Retrofit Kits are available for installation on various machines including Large Mining Trucks, Off-Highway Trucks, Wheel Loaders, Motor Graders, Articulated Trucks and other applications without factory installed Object Detection or Vision system.</li><li>Contact your local Cat dealer for more information on retrofit system kits.</li></ul>
